More than 50 collision incidents because of snow & ice in Sheffield

OFFICIAL data from Police reveal that 70 road collision incidents have been registered from 1st till 9th of December because of the heavy snowfall in Sheffield.


The snowfall started on Wednesday,1st December and was continued till Friday, the 3rd.
However, the ice on the roads remained for many days after Friday, making the transition from one place to another excessively hard and dangerous for both pedestrians and drivers in Sheffield.

Presentation of Police's data:

  • 01/12/10: Five incidents have been registered by the Police, no injured person.
  • 02/12/10: Eight incidents have been registered. A driver has been slightly injured at 14.50 because of slippery road conditions.
  • 03/12/10: Seven incidents have been registered. At 10.05 and 13.30 two pedestrians have been slightly injured, in the first case because of slippery road conditions and in the second case because of failing to look properly.
  • 04/12/10: Eight incident registrations, no injured person.
  • 05/12/10: Five incident registrations, no injured person.
  • 06/12/10: Ten incident registrations, no injured person.
  • 07/12/10: Eight incident registrations, no injured person.
  • 08/12/10: Four incident registrations, no injured person.
  • 09/12/10: Fourteen incident registrations, one slightly injured driver at 17.28 because of slippery road conditions and dazzling headlights.
